Congratulations Andrea & Brian! Andrea & Brian tied the knot on Saturday with their pup Shinobli at the Hawaii Prince Hotel in front of their closest friends and family. It was a beautiful celebration and one of the most heartfelt weddings I’ve ever been to. It is obvious these two were meant for each other and we felt honored to be a part of such a special day.
Andrea + Brian met about 4 years ago. They just happened to be neighbors (or maybe it was fate!). In either case, lucky for Brian he had his sidekick Shinobli – a very handsome shiba inu (which immediately drew Andrea to him). Unable to resist Shinobli (and Brian), Andrea began to start spending more time with the pair accompanying them on walks. It didn’t talk long for the three of them to be come “official”. I say the three of them because I, too, have a pup who I consider to be pretty much my family – a golden retriever, Cally – and I know how first hand important these furry friends are:)
Long story short, Andrea and Brian (and Shinobli) were smitten with each other and soon, on his birthday, Brian asked Andrea to marry him. Of course she said “I do”, and that’s when Erika & I came into the picture.
With a very large family and an approx. guest count of 220-275 people they had their work cut out for them. Nevertheless, Andrea, being very organized, was ready. She knew however that there was no way she could execute the “day of” her wedding and enjoy the show, so she hired us (Best Day Ever) to help her pull it off.
Time flew by and before they knew it all the vendors had been booked and details were coming together. We stepped in about a month and a half before their big day to pull everything together. Erika put together a very detailed timeline outlining every vendors job, and all the details. We knew where everyone should go, and what needed to be done – minute by minute. Each vendor was contacted and all kinks were ironed out. We sent each vendor a copy of the timeline (with their section highlighted), to ensure that nothing would fall through the cracks. After many many hours of organization, phone calls, and planning, everything was finally coming together. There were a few last minute meetings and soon it was time for the rehearsal… and then the Big Day!
Before I get to the photos, we just wanted to send a Thank You to a few very special vendors all of whom we could not have done it without. First to Joann at the Hawaii Prince Hotel, the catering sales manager – Thank YOU so much for all your help answering all of our questions and for taking the time to help us sort out all the details. It was a pleasure working with you and we can’t wait to work with you again! Thank You to Marvin, the banquet captain who helped with all the set up and organization… he even helped us print up some last minute files for the bride! A big Mahalo to Tammy & TGIS Flowers, you guys did a great job with the decor of both the ceremony & reception area. Everything looked gorgeous! Loved the pink flowers everywhere! Thank You to Dylan Dawson and team for all the wonderful photos, we can’t wait to see how they came out! Dylan is Hawaii Wedding Photography at it’s best! Thank You to Flip Books Hawaii for putting on quite the show! Guests never get enough of Flip Books, we only wish we had more time with you guys so that we could have made one too! Great Job! Thank you to Mia Moriguchi and her team for doing a fabulous job on all the girls’ hair and make-up! Andrea looked amazing! Sending a Big Mahalo out to Eric & the entire gang at Imagine Wurks for doing a wonderful job on the “Same Day Edit” and the entire Hawaii Wedding videography. We can’t wait to see the final video, if it was anything like the “Same Day Edit” I’m sure it will be spectacular:) And of course to our new friend, an amazing Hawaii deejay – Ryan, at Exquisite Entertainment Hawaii – Thank YOU! It was a pleasure working with you and we can’t wait to work with you again. I absolutely loved your playlist – you really set the mood:) And to Andrea + Brian’s officiant, Alice Inouye, You did such a great job… Thanks for all of your help:) We’re so excited we finally got to work with you! Looking forward to many more weddings in the future! Also, a big Thank You to Sherrie Shinjo who helped Andrea with the decor & favors. Sherrie also designed the table signage, escort & favor tags and invitations! You can check out her work on her facebook page: here! A Big Mahalo to Cameron who was the emcee for Andrea & Brian. Witty, funny and entertaining – a great combo for a master of ceremonies. Thanks Cameron! Thank You to Tracy + Kevin for all your help with the Sign-in Table:) We could not have done it without you! Also a quick Thank You to the entire wedding party: Jocelyn, Sean, Casey, Shane, Mikyong, & Julie and to Brian & Andrea’s parents just for being such wonderful parents! It is obvious how much you all love Brian & Andrea! Thank You for letting us share their special day with you!
Last but not least – a big Congratulations & Mahalo to Mr. & Mrs. Fukumoto, Andrea & Brian! Both of you were so very sweet and obviously very much in love! We couldn’t be any more happy for the both of you and we wish you a lifetime of love, joy and happiness (with Shinobli of course:) . We truly hope you had your “Best Day Ever”! Congrats!!
Finally – on to a few photos… Of course they’re not professional, but – a good capture of the day – if I don’t say so myself. And although I missed the opening “Gangnam Style” dance because I was delivering wedding cards to the safety deposit box, I did get a great pic of the dodgeball garter toss!
Sunset at the Hawaii Prince – Gorgeous!
Julie, the flower girl, checking out her very pretty makeup 🙂 A very detailed crane design was created by the bride & family to honor her & Brian’s Japanese heritage. The favors were so cute!! Different mini-cooking & kitchen items including a whip, wine cork, beer opener, measuring spoons, and a coaster. Love the idea of having several different favors instead of just one! Before the ceremony we laid out leis for the family with labels to make it easy for the bride & groom when they were doing the receiving line.
Shinobli waiting anxiously to see mama. Check out his bow tie, how cute!
Brian & Shinobli waiting for the “First Look” and for Andrea to come down the escalator! Bridesmaids fully prepared w/tissues in hand.
The “First Look”!
Up at the ceremony area, waiting to walk down the isle… everyone very Happy & emotional:)
Mom, dad & Andrea trying to fight back tears before the walk… Andrea kept saying “Suck it up Mom”, it was the cutest thing I’ve ever seen:)
Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Fukumoto!
The reception opened with an introduction of the wedding party which soon led into a surprise dance to Gangnam Style. Unfortunately I didn’t get any pics, but just to give you an idea of how fun this bride and groom are (and what sports their bridal party were) just imagine them all dancing to this:
Brian also performed a few special songs for Andrea. Super sweet!
A bouquet presentation, and then the garter toss.. Which instead became a garter Dodgeball game. Andrea was to spin Brian and then he was to throw the dodgeball at the crowd of single guys.
And finally – a few shots of the guests making good use of the Flip Books station… Love these shots, so funny!
In the middle of the reception I ran up to the room to do a quick clean up before setting up a little surprise for Andrea & Brian. I designed a wine bottle label for them and we wrote them a card and then… we did a little romantic rose petal shower for the honeymooners to be!
Congratulations Brian & Andrea!!
We hope you had a wonderful day – Cheers to your “Best Day Ever”!
