Last Sunday two of our favorite people, Dane & Charis tied the knot in front of their closest friends and family at Paradise Cove Crystal Chapel and the Ihilani, Ko’olina. It was an honor to be a part of such a special occasion, especially since they only found us by accident about a month before their big day when their other wedding planner dropped out, leaving Charis in tears and Dane a bit stressed. Not to worry, Best Day Ever to save the day ~ We think it was fate! 🙂
It was a very very very busy month pulling together all the details, but … by the next meeting date, we had timelines, and contracts, and photo lists all in place, and we could feel a sigh of relief from the bride and groom, which made us very happy planners 🙂
I wanted to thank everyone who helped with this special occasion because it truly was a group effort and we could not have done it without all of you. A big Mahalo to Kapiolani and Kalei at Best Bridal – Paradise Cove Crystal Chapel for all your help with ceremony set up and sound. Thank you to everyone at the JV Marriott, Ihilani – Ko’olina, especially Dee (assistant to the event managers) and Terry, also to Janice (the catering manager for the day who was a huge help!). Mahalo to officiant Art Larson of New Hope Leeward, your ceremony was soooo perfect for these two! Thank you to Colleen and Robynn of the Patisserie for a gorgeous cake! A Big Mahalo to Kristin of Marie Blooms for all the gorgeous Hawaii Wedding Florals! Thank you to Kevin of DJ Kevo Events who handled the deejaying, music and was an excellent emcee! It was our first time working with Hawaii DJ Kevin, and we loved him! To anyone who needs an Hawaii emcee or deejay – be sure to check DJ Kevo out! Also thank you to Pou, Kevin’s amazing helper! Melody of Foto Fix Hawaii and helper Alex, did a fabulous job with the Hawaii photo booth. Thanks Melody, we will definitely be recommending you! All of the bridesmaids had gorgeous hair, and we owe that to Kendall – Thanks Kendall! Mahalo to Ruth of Radiant Allure for the beautiful make-up! Also, a big Thank You to Marlo Rivera for the brides hair & make-up. Mahalo to Jeff, the driver from Jay’s Limo who made countless trips back and forth for the bride and groom transporting all the guests from the Ihilani to the Crystal Chapel. A big thank you to Hawaii photographer Vince Shin of Love Story Weddings and his fabulous assistant Kara. Can’t wait to see your photos. I’m sure they are amazing! Please send us copies! Our favorite videographer, James of Crane Media did a wonderful job – as always! Thanks James! Also thank you to your assistants – Paul and JP 🙂 Mahalo to everyone who helped with entertainment, Bryson “Ikaika” Pascua who played during cocktail hour and Mike of Rebel Souljahz and his girlfriend who played during lunch service. I think I got everyone, but if I forgot you.. THANK YOU!!
And of course… to the fabulous wedding party, and immediate family members who helped make Charis and Dane’s day a success. A big Mahalo to Dane & Charis’s parents, Marybeth, Cheri, Brigette, Lara, Kelsea, Nick, Jadd, Chad, Rudy, Desi, Aria, Reef, Ryder, Drasen, Zion, and Kayana! Also to our sign-in table girls who really helped the sign-in process go very smoothly – Karyna and Reina.
Last but not least to our bride and groom, thank you for trusting us with your special day. We hope your experience was much different from that with your first wedding planner. It was an honor to share such a special moment with you two, and we truly hope you had nothing less than your “Best Day Ever”!
And now for the best part… the pictures!
It was a dark and stormy night… just kidding… it was a dark and stormy morning that much was true, this was the view from the bridal suite at Ko’olina at 5am, hair and make-up had just started and all the girls were filling up on coffee.
The bride getting her hair done…
The cake was delivered, and all set up – Don’t you just LOVE the cake topper? So perfect for these two! Best Day Ever also surprised the bride & groom with a bottle of champagne :) Marie Blooms brought in gorgeous hydrangea flowers in shades of blue and white, as we helped to arrange the centerpieces.
DJ Kevo setting up… Kevin was also the emcee for the reception – and absolutely perfect for the job. Funny, clever and just their style. Our helper for the day Ceci even asked me how he knew the bride and groom assuming he had known them for years. The boys, looking quite handsome posing for a quick pic before heading into the limo… Limo F U N ! :)Before we knew it, all the guests were all set up in the chapel and wedding party was all lined up… anxiously awaiting the big moment.
Meanwhile the girls outside, waiting for the big grand entrance, posed for a few pics.

It’s Official! ♥As the guests headed over to cocktail hour and enjoyed pupus and drinks, the wedding party spent some time with photographer Vince Shin from Love Story Weddings. Vince got some amazing wedding party shots… which we can’t wait to see (of course, his were better -these are just my iphone pics).
The best group shot ever!
Congratulations Dane & Charis! Cheers to your “Best Day Ever” #GorgeousHawaiiBride&Groom
Guests moved their way through cocktail hour and the sign-in table and headed into the ballroom waiting for the big Grand Entrance of the wedding party & bride & groom! Leis for out of town guests and special guests were laid out for the Karyna & Reina (the sign in table girls). Thanks girls for all your help! The card box!
Mike from Rebel Soljahs and his beautiful girlfriend sang for guests during pupu hour and lunch. Bryson “Ikaika” Pascua also gave an outstanding performance during cocktail hour as well but unfortunately I didn’t get any pics of Ikaika.
A few more behind the scenes shots with Love Story Weddings… Before we knew it it was time for the reception to begin. And then… the first dance song scratched, the wedding party put on their shades – and they began dancing to the Wedding Wobble! Love this! 🙂
The Bouquet Toss…And Garter Toss…
A special performance by long-time friend of the bride, Tiani Sojot. Tiani did a moving modern dance for the newlyweds…
And before we knew it, there were speeches, lunch and then the money
